Featured in the exclusive WedLuxe Magazine, Mana and Jay’s show-stopping wedding, was THE wedding of the year. A spectacular, glamorous, luxury event produced by none other than DBH, obviously.
An event of this caliber could only be hosted at one place, where “happily-ever-after” begins in grand style, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Recently voted “Best Wedding Venue” by the Professional BC Wedding Awards. The bride wanted a very modern unique ceremony and the groom wanted a classic royal reception, what a perfect venue to host the very best of both.
Like their wedding venue, their wedding photographer was an easy choice, Belluxe Photography. The couple spent a beautiful summer’s day with the highly-regarded Samineh, sailing around coal harbour in Vancouver, capturing stunning engagement portraits, which they would enlarge and display on canvas’ for their guests on their wedding day.
The morning of January 27th, 2018, bride-to-be Mana, began getting ready with her ladies in style, with the highly sought after hair-stylist Coco, who designed two distinct looks for ceremony and reception. The ceremony look was to be a classy timeless updo with a custom designed head piece of Swarovski Crystals, and for reception, sexy voluminous soft curls framing Mana’s beautiful face.
Makeup was done by the Makeup by Haleh team, and was soft and natural to compliment the brides classic beauty. Mana adorned a custom-made jewelry set made by a well-known Iranian Jeweler, which consisted of a headpiece, earrings, bracelet and ring.
Once Mana and her stunning bridesmaids had their hair and makeup complete, they celebrated with a champagne toast before slipping into their attire. The bridesmaids all wore floor sweeping gowns from Bisou Bridal, in a soft mauve chiffon, with beaded crystal belt detail and one shoulder bodice. Maids-of-honor, Mana’s two gorgeous daughters, wore long navy sequin gowns, also from Bisou Bridal.
Mana had two dresses prepared for the day one for ceremony and one for reception. Her first, for ceremony, the Martina Liana #873 from Bisou Bridal. A sleeveless crepe sheath gown with a halter-inspired neckline and a beaded lace bodice. Elegant sheer lace sides over the hips and sheer back with embroidered detail, which looked exceptional with the dramatic tulle train and beaded lace hem. All paired with her Christian Louboutin’s in Aurora Boreale Swarovski crystals, she was an absolute vision.
It was time for the first look and Mana wanted her groom to see her for the first time in her second dress, the Martina Liana # 902, which would later be for the reception. A sleeveless sparkle tulle ballgown featuring a beaded lace illusion corset bodice, with a sweetheart neckline, delicate straps and a scoop back. The gown had a natural waistline with beaded lace accents trailing into the skirt. She paired this with classic Manolo Blahnik’s. With her elegant bouquet of white Phalaenopsis Orchids, Mana was ready to see her handsome groom.
While the ladies made their way down, Jay and his groomsmen put on the finishing touches to their sophisticated attire. Jay wore a black Tom Ford tux and bow tie from Harry Rosen, with black patent Christian Louboutin’s and accessorized with a classic Rolex watch. For the reception, Jay would change into a White Tom Ford suit. With his groomsmen by his side, all sporting black Giorgio Armani Tuxedos and Black bow ties by Boss, Jay was ready to see his bride for the first time.
Posted at the top of the Fairmont steps, Jay anxiously awaited the gentle tap on the shoulder from his bride. Mana, with a smile gleaming, slowly walked towards her groom, with his back to her waiting for the most wonderful surprise. As she tapped his shoulder, he turned slowly to witness his glorious bride-to-be, an stunning vision in white, he dropped to his knees, in awe of her beauty. They took a moment, a perfect moment just the two of them, basking in each others beauty and the love they share.
Afterwards, their wedding party and immediate families stepped in to enjoy some family photos with the couple before they left to capture their wedding portraits using the Fairmont Hotel, the “Castle in the City,” as a timeless luxury background.
As guests began to arrive, they were greeted by floor to ceiling draping by Kawano Decor, with chandeliers casting elegant warm light into the foyer. Friends and family were able to capture some unforgettable selfies in front of Flower Wall Vancouver’s 8 foot installation of white and blush florals, with a custom laser cut monogram of M&J created by Box not Box.
The ceremony was a romantic, lavish garden filled with opulence and splendor, guests were surrounded by decorative arrangements of white hydrangeas and garden roses. Down the center spanned a custom built white aisle lined with tapered candles lit in crystal candelabras. White Vogue chairs filled the room leading up to a Persian Sofreh table custom built in a circle design to symbolize endless love. A dreamy soft-lit pipe and drape was the background to a one-of-a-kind Sofreh set-up by the fabulous DBH team. Orchids cascading with an assortment of roses and hydrangeas atop crystal vases, lined the aisle to create a dreamy atmosphere, as guests began to arrive and find their seats. The couples parents made their way down the aisle followed by the wedding party and then the stunning maids-of-honor, one by one, arriving at the head of the room on either side of the Sofreh. Guests all stood in admiration of the show-stopping couple as they entered the room. Arm-in-arm they floated down the aisle in a breathtaking display of poise and elegance. Once seated at the Sofreh, the traditional Persian ceremony began, with customary readings and blessings for the couple, including the sugar ceremony performed by the bridesmaids and the two mothers. They exchanged wedding rings, from Cartier, which beautifully accompanied her 2.5 quart round diamond Tiffany engagement ring. Gifts were then presented to the couple from family and friends, as they posed for a picture before heading to the the foyer for cocktail hour.
While their guests enjoyed sweets, fruit, coffee, Persian Tea and traditional Indian Chai, the couple made their way to the ballroom for a first glance at the elaborate decor and florals designed by Details by Haleh, Mohani Events, and Tala Florist. The Ballroom was completely filled with flowers and candles, every inch was abundantly decorated with magnificent white flowers that stretched the whole span of the room which was lit by over 500 candles in exquisite crystal candelabras and 8 oversize custom made Chandeliers. The room was filled with multi tiered centerpieces abundantly decorated with white hydrangeas, anemones, white garden roses, quicksand roses and Phalaenopsis orchids cascading down.
Two full white bloom trees accented either side of the opulent head table that sat perched on a custom built stage trimmed in rose gold. The head table was heavily draped in Phalaenopsis orchid and Quicksand Roses and filled with crystal candlesticks. On either side of the round white wrapped monogram dance floor provided by Instyle floor wrap, were custom made, high gloss white, half moon tables. Hanging above the tables on custom made fresh bloom covered trees, were 4 crystal hanging chandeliers. The floral designs included a waterfall of thousands of orchids over each centerpiece including hanging crystal pieces as well as 8ft waterfall Orchids, and the magnanimous floral arrangements framing the newlyweds. On each side of the Sweetheart table there were 13 foot tall white Blossom trees. Throughout the room were round tables with cream satin tablecloths topped with mirrors and white ceramic charges trimmed with gold. Stationery by Making memories included table numbers and escort cards with a print of soft lace on blush paper with the faint monogram of M&J printed in behind rose gold calligraphy. At each table set a mix of white chairs with rose gold trim and rose gold infinity chairs. The glow of the sea of candles reflected throughout, creating the perfect background for the glamorous, elegant and royal garden look. Next to the sweetheart table sat the cake, a towering 11 tiered design, 7ft high featuring delicate sugar ruffles, rose gold sugar pearls and a hand piped monogram. Rose gold spacers with a pearl trim added extra height. The couple enjoyed a vanilla cake with hazelnut buttercream, white chocolate coffee ganache and toasted hazelnuts, custom created by Anna Elizabeth.
Once the ballroom doors opened, the bridal party, followed by the bride and groom made their grand entrance and headed straight to the dance floor, where they were surrounded by their guests in a celebration of music and dancing. Carrying a beautiful bouquet of rare Anemones, which added a brilliant pop of navy and showed richly against her reception ball gown.
A beautifully choreographed first dance followed by a sentimental father daughter and mother son dance, warmed the hearts of all who watched from the side of the dance floor. Meanwhile, across the hall a grand feast of seafood, salads, assorted entrees such as ling cod, Dijon Crusted Rack of Lamb, and Carved Beef Striploin as well as a few traditional Persian and Indian dishes. For dessert, the famous Fairmont Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, as well as assorted desserts and seasonal fruits were displayed.
For the nights entertainment the highly sought after 12 piece band flown in from LA called Rouge by LIV Entertainment Group captivated the guests with their amazing performance of Top 40, Rap and everything in between. The crowd was astonished by the array of languages sung by the band’s 5 vocalists, including the famous Arash Avin who, along with the other vocalists, sang in Spanish, Persian and Indian. DJ Ali Fard captured the guests with a hip mix of the best music from all genres, and kept the dance floor packed all night.
